Sadly, the dog’s death occurred at a crucial point in DeFrancesco’s career.

The former Euroformula Open Race champion was set to compete in the 24 Hours of Daytona this past weekend. According to Essentially Sports, DeFrancesco had traveled with Lucky to Florida ahead of the event. They were both staying at the driver’s motorhome when tragedy struck.

Another shared: “His girlfriend just posted a video with that dog a few days ago. All love from my family to Devlin and Co. Awful to hear.”

A third person reacted: “Poor Lucky. And Devlin I am so sorry.”

How did Devlin DeFrancesco’s puppy die

At the time of publishing, the real cause of DeFrancesco’s puppy has yet to be officially confirmed. However, it’s alleged that Lucky was struck and killed by a car at the motorhome lot.

A tweet shared by Journalist Jenna Fryer read: “Devlin DeFrancesco’s golden retriever puppy was run over and killed in the motorhome lot.”

In a separate tweet, Fryer further shared: “It was in the motorhome lot. Which means someone authorized to be driving a car in the lot was involved. I’ve asked for a statement from the other party involved.”
