Video Shows How Deaf Pups Greet Owner in Heartwarming Video

Deaf dogs might not be able to hear what humans say. However, that doesn’t mean they are not deserving of love and affection. Owner Christopher Hannah proved just that with his pack of deaf pups, who have managed to bring light into the world with their heart-warming stories and adorable antics. In one of the Instagram videos by @colethedeaddog, Hannah showed how his pack of babies welcome him after he returns home. The owner revealed that walking up his dead dogs is his highlight of the day.

Deaf pups are not startled at all when owner wakes them up

Christopher Hannah showed his followers what it’s like to wake his deaf pups up as soon as he reaches home. The Instagram video captured him gently stroking each one of the sleeping dogs to let them know he was back. The pups, however, weren’t the slightest bit startled, proving that they were used to and comfortable with the owner’s scent. Meanwhile, the pet parent shared that this activity is the “favorite part of the day” in the clip’s caption.

The Instagram video began with Hannah capturing one of his deaf dogs sleeping peacefully on the couch. The owner softly caressed the canine, leading the pup to wake up. As soon as the dog woke up, the dad held up a few of his fingers. It translated to “I love you” in sign language. The pet parent then woke up two other dogs, who were sleeping nearby in another corner of the couch.

Hannah hinted in the video that none of the deaf dogs knew he was home until his touch gently made them aware of his presence. He woke each one of them with gentle pats on their head, showering them with as much love as possible. The owner revealed that his dogs don’t startle at the sudden touch as “they have always been woken up with love.”

According to the owner, this tradition has been inculcated as part of their training to become therapy dogs. Hannah also revealed that the deadblind dog Sullivan from the pack had also become accustomed to the touch, feeling fully “safe and secure.” Many fans and followers also expressed their admiration for both the owner and the deaf pups.

Hannah’s deaf dogs pack includes Cole, Alice, Sullivan, and Cece. The owner is also a dad to ‘only hearing pup’ Penelope.
