The age of Joe Biden’s dog Major is 7. He was born on January 17, 2018. Major was the “first ever rescue pupper” to live at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Major was adopted in 2018 from an animal shelter in the Delaware Humane Society. He was under a year old at the time. Major spent three years in the White House and was accused of jumping on, barking, and charging staff and security on multiple occasions. In 2021, Major nipped a Secret Service official.

At the time, White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed Major caused an injury to an unnamed individual. He said, “[Champ and Major] are still getting acclimated and accustomed to their surroundings and new people. And on Monday, the first family’s younger dog, Major, was surprised by an unfamiliar person and reacted in a way that resulted in a minor injury to the individual.” As per a Secret Service official, the injured person was a United States Secret Service agent.

He was then involved in a second biting incident at the White House. Major bit a National Park Service employee during a walk. First lady Jill Biden’s press secretary Michael LaRosa confirmed the incident saying that the pet “nipped someone on a walk.” However, the person was seen by the doctor and “then returned to work without injury.” Several media outlets reported of more biting incidents which resulted in the exit of the pup from the White House.

The breed of Joe Biden’s dog is German Shepherd. They are strong yet lovable dogs who need a proper structure to function. Their lifespan is 12-14 years.

Due to his aggressive behavior on multiple occasions, their pet pooch went back to live in a quieter environment in Biden’s family home in Wilmington, Delaware. Other than dogs, Biden’s are also a pet owner of a cat, Willow.
