The actor and comedian lost her “protector & best friend” due to cancer. Sherri Shepherd informed about the demise with a heartbreaking message on Instagram mentioning, “My monster baby, my protector & my love. I am devastated to say goodbye. My heart is broken but I am so thankful for 12 beautiful years with you. I always said DOG spelled backwards is GOD and you loved me unconditionally as I loved you.”
Lexi, a “ferocious 127lb dog,” has been with Sherri Shepherd “since she was 8 weeks old.” But sadly the pup was diagnosed with cancer, making it difficult for the canine to jump or even walk. She was “not falling for any tricks” either due to the pain.
However, after Lexi passed away Sherri Shepherd was heartbroken but knowing that her furry companion was “no longer in pain” relieved her a bit.

Sherri Shepherd’s dog Lexi was Cane Corso. They are intelligent and affectionate dogs who are very protective of their owners. Cane corso stand 23-27 inches tall and their life expectancy is 9-12 years.
Lexi was not the only dog of Sherri Shepherd. The anchor also had a Labrador Retriever, Ashley. She was adopted from Nashville as per her Instagram account. Sadly, the pooch died in 2021. She was 14 years old.
