Benefits To Ordering Pet Supplies Online

Like a lot of dog owners I work a full-time job and have 4 lovely pups who depend on me for their food, nutrition, treats, toys, cozy dog beds, medical attention and everything else that goes with being a lucky dog owner and mama of a dog family. I buy a lot of dog food and and supplies and until recently didn’t realize how much easier my life could be if I would just order those items online. Here are the benefits to ordering your pet supplies online that I have found. I’ll never go back to doing things the old way.

1. More Time With Your Dog

Weekends are precious. As dog owners we all want to spend as much time as we can with our dogs. Instead of driving around and running errands you can spend your time at the dog park, going for walks and hikes, and just laying around the house watching Investigation Discovery with your dogs. Because we know that all dogs love watching Investigation Discovery. 😉

2. Save Gas & Mileage

Gas is expensive and who doesn’t love saving money on gas. It also means you’ll put less miles on your car so you won’t have to get a tune up as soon as you would if you were driving around picking up dog food and medications and all the other things your babies need.

3. Convenience

If you buy dog food you know that those bags are heavy. If you are disabled, or older, or just tired from a long day or week of work, the last thing you want to have to do is lug one of those big ol’ bag of dog food out to the car from the store and then back into your house when you get home. It’s so much more convenient to wake up and have a huge bag of dog food sitting on my doorstep. If you know how much dog food your dogs eat each month, you can even set up a recurring delivery via Amazon to have it delivered automatically each month.

4. Variety

There are a lot of treats and toys and foods out there and to be honest, no one store can carry them all. I’ve found a lot of things online that I had never even seen in my local dog store. I’ve had people reach out to me on our DogTime and CatTime Facebook pages asking where they can find a specific dog food that they have not been able to find in their local pet store and I always direct them to Amazon.com. Not because I’m a spokesperson for Amazon but because they have everything and if you are a Prime member they’ll deliver it to your door for about the same cost you’ll find that item in most stores.

5. Gifting And Donating

Sometimes it’s a nice gesture to send a bag of food or other dog essentials to a friend or family member who is going through a difficult time. Maybe they recently had a baby and their hands are full. Maybe they are ill and going through medical difficulties. Maybe they are just older and you want to help them out. When you order an item online you can ship it to anyone, anywhere and attach a little note to let them know you’re thinking of them. You can also send a bag of dog food to your favorite rescue group or shelter, along with other pet supplies they might need. You can do all this without ever leaving your pup home alone.

So if you have a dog or are thinking of adopting a dog but aren’t sure you can handle the added responsibility of pet ownership in your life, I highly recommend doing some research and seeing how many of your pet supplies you can have delivered to your home. It’s always good to compare prices and add up the benefits vs. the cost of running around town to make sure it’s the right choice for you.

I’ve gone into the online world of ordering pet supplies and I’m never going back.
