Texas Nurse Adopts Late Patient’s Dog After Searching for Days

Earlier this year, a nurse went above and beyond to look for a dog who belonged to a late patient, later adopting the rescue pup. He was rescued from a hoarding case last year and found a loving home with his previous owner. Unfortunately, the owner passed away after being discovered unconscious in their car. Now, the rescue has a new forever home with the nurse.

Nurse eagerly searches for late patient’s dog in Texas, adopts rescue pup after finding him

The SPCA of Texas seized rescue dog Bear Bear in September 2023. The organization helped him recuperate after he was found in an animal hoarding situation and found him a forever home with a 37-year-old Texas resident. However, about half a year later, the pup found himself back at the SPCA after his owner passed away.

Nurse Dezorey Arocha learned about the dog while caring for the late patient and decided to adopt him. Since the owner didn’t make it and no one in their family could care for Bear Bear, Arocha was determined to provide him with a loving home. Unfortunately, the detective who informed her about the pup didn’t have the particulars. Moreover, the canine had already been sent to the animal shelter.

After 11 days of looking through several local shelters, she finally discovered the pup’s name. Then, finding the pup and setting up a quick meet-and-greet was easier. Moreover, Arocha loved Bear Bear the first time she met him. His gentle and loving personality won her heart, and she was determined to bring him home after the first meet-and-greet.

According to People, after being brought to his new home, Bear Bear was renamed Asher. He has two canine sisters who adore him and keep him company. The best part is that Asher is fitting in well in his new environment.
