Pennsylvania SPCA rescues dog getting beaten by owner after video goes viral
On July 30, the Pennsylvania SPCA rescued a dog reported by a Good Samaritan after watching a viral video. In the video, an individual mercilessly hits a canine. She couldn’t escape him as she was tethered to him with a leash. According to an Instagram post by the organization, the viral video helped identify the suspect and rescue the dog just in time.
The video was first uploaded on social media on Monday. Not only did the man punch the dog named Daisy, but he also picked her up by the skin of her back legs. The officials first tried to capture the suspect on Monday. However, nobody answered the door, so they had to return the next day. That is when they came across the individual walking his dog. The pup was seized by the Pennsylvania SPCA and sent to their shelter hospital for further examination and care.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the charges will be determined after Daisy’s forensic exam results are in. While she is in stable condition, the authorities want to keep her under observation to check for any lasting impacts of the abuse she had to suffer, per NBC10. The CEO of the Pennsylvania SPCA, Julie Klim, noted, “We are grateful that Daisy is safe in our care today.”
