Noel, an adopted rescue dog, finally found her forever home after more than three years of waiting. During this time, she attended several of the shelter’s adoption events and met many people. However, Noel couldn’t find her perfect match until now. The happy pup will now spend this year’s holidays at her new home with her new family.
Rescue dog’s 1,263-day wait ends with a heartwarming adoption
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue shared a video on their Facebook page that it took 1,263 days to find a home for Noel. The pup arrived at the shelter “very pregnant” and gave birth to 10 adorable puppies. All the pups quickly got adopted, but Noel remained. Following that, the mama dog “developed severe mastitis from nursing so many puppies.”
As Noel recovered, she stayed with some of the shelter’s fosters. She met “countless people” and attended various adoption events in hopes that “one of them might be her new family.” After “years of getting passed up week after week,” a family came across Noel on one of the shelter’s Nextdoor posts and “instantly fell in love.” The pup finally got the “happily ever after she has always dreamed of.”
Another video shared on the shelter’s Instagram shows Noel “spends her days running the trails and playing in parks.” Lucky Dog Animal Rescue noted that the rescued dog‘s adoption “is a testament to the power of perseverance.” They also highlight the “incredible kindness of the rescue community.” The three different fosters “selflessly” cared for Noel during her time with them. Besides them, the shelter’s volunteers “worked tirelessly” to ensure the pup’s well-being.
In related news, Noel’s new mom also shared photos of the adopted rescue dog at her new home, writing that she has been “excited” to give the Pit Bull “best day of your life every day.”
