Thai motorist finds blindfolded dog with puppies abandoned by the roadside
On Saturday, August 31, a Facebook user shared a video of a mother dog blindfolded and left on the side of the road in Saraburi, Thailand. The passerby stopped his motorcycle to get a closer look. Meanwhile, the dog appeared to be frightened at the sounds of the vehicle and the man. But after the man went closer, he found a cardboard box filled with nine puppies.
The man could hear little squeaks from the box before he opened it to find the puppies. The box seemed like a courier box attached with information. The dog, afraid of the arrival, growled, ready to attack and defend itself from what it thought was danger.
The Facebook user, Amuwat Phothithong, spoke to the Thai news outlet Thairath about the experience. He confessed to returning home late evening when he saw the dog and the box. He witnessed the scene near the entrance of Nong Kae Temple. Upon hearing the cries of the puppies, the user opened the box.
Eventually, he called the rescue team, who stepped up to help. Another video showed the dog and the puppies safe in the rescue vehicle. Another local news site reported that one of Amuwat’s friends adopted the mother dog, naming her Paula. Meanwhile, the day after the rescue, he and his friends updated followers that the dog and puppies were safe in the shelter.
