Golden Retriever Shows Just How Lazy It Can Be in Cute Video

Living with a toddler and a dog means your home often turns into an obstacle course. There’s always a toy underfoot, a snack trail in progress, or, as seen in a recent video, a lazy Golden Retriever sprawled across the one and only “road” a toddler needs to drive his toy car. The reel shows a funny moment when a toddler meets a very uninterested roadblock, and the standoff is pure gold(en).

Golden Retriever blocks traffic while toddler in his toy car honks away

Skylar, the Golden Retriever in question, is quite possibly the cutest traffic jam in the world. In a recent video shared by her human mom, Skylar lies flat on the kitchen floor. Her toddler brother is cruising around in a toy car, but is now stuck behind the furry traffic jam. As he repeatedly attempts to get Skylar to move, she remains unbothered.

On the screen, a text says, “POV: the lady in front of you is blocking traffic with not a care in the world,” comparing Skylar to the type of driver that we’ve all been stuck behind in rush hour. Their mom is recording the entire moment, capturing the little toddler attempting to escape the situation. He grows ever more upset, while still trying to be polite. “Beep beep, Skylar,” he says, mimicking a honk. True to form, Skylar stays perfectly still, showing no signs of awareness (or interest) in the situation.

The mom gently suggests he go around her, but the toddler insists that he “can’t fit.” Still determined, he keeps honking until his mom steps in again. Eventually, he decides to get out of the toy car, maneuver it past Skylar, and then climbs back in on the other side.

“That is a Boston driver if I’ve ever seen one,” one person joked, while another said, “Golden hour traffic,” nodding to both her breed and her total disregard for toy-car laws. Many admitted they’ve felt like a toddler when stuck behind someone who won’t move.
