Well, this owner recently faced a similar scenario when she asked her Labrador to go “poo and potty.” The pup mistook it for “pool party” and went swimming in the pool instead, much to the dog parent’s surprise. The funny incident made the owner complain about Labradors’ “selective hearing” in the video. However, the Internet jumped to the dog’s defence, saying the pooch was not at fault.

Every dog owner would agree that every pooch usually uses the technique of selective hearing when they want to do things as per their wish. Even this dog mom caught her Labrador doing something that was not asked for.
In the clip, uploaded by @livinlavitalexi on Instagram and TikTok, Lexi is seen swimming in the pool when the dog mom says she asked the pup “to go poo and potty, not have a pool party.” The owner then asks the black lab to “get out” of the pool, asking her, “What were you thinking.” The lady lab’s actions made the mom believe that “Labradors have selective hearing,” but the Internet did not agree with the mom.
Many social media users supported Lexi’s actions, insisting the one year old pup was not at fault. One Instagram user said, “Poo and potty sounds very similar to pool party, I’d do the same.” Another person voiced her support, saying, “It looks like a good time for a pool party! I’m with Lexi!”
While a few users mentioned other reasons why Lexi went to the pool. One dog lover commented for Lexi, “Mom, I did go poo. Now I’m just cleaning myself off!” While another individual wrote, “She was thinking you might not notice.” The hilarious video of the Labrador in the pool has received more than 17k likes at the time of writing.
