Video: Golden Retriever Can’t Contain Happiness Seeing ‘School Reading Buddy’

Having dogs as companions helps humans in more ways than one. A Golden Retriever therapy dog named Charlie couldn’t contain his happiness when one of his “school reading buddies” came over to the house to read to him. Reading to a dog aids children in building confidence and has also proven to be a fun bonding experience. An Instagram video on the account @charliethetherapy captured the canine’s reunion with a little girl named Ella Ann, and it was as adorable as it could get.

Golden Retriever starts jumping in joy upon the arrival of ‘school reading buddy’

Golden Retriever Charlie topped all levels of happiness when he saw his “school reading buddy” visit him at his house. The Instagram video captured the therapy dog‘s excitement over meeting his human friend. Speaking of the canine’s emotions, the owner said, “Excitement is an understatement here!” Rightfully so, as soon as he saw Ella Ann, the dog started jumping in joy while welcoming the guests.

The video began with the owner announcing Ann’s arrival, and Charlie couldn’t keep calm. Upon realizing his buddy’s arrival, the Golden Retriever began excitedly thumping his paws on the house’s fence. Meanwhile, the clip showed the reading buddy’s smile grow wider as she stepped out of her car, possibly with her mom, and saw the canine waiting for her. What followed next was a heartwarming reunion, coupled with the dog’s elevated levels of enthusiasm.

As the guests made their way to Charlie, he began barking and jumping, indicating his excitement at the meeting. When they began to pet him, the dog’s joy knew no bounds. He couldn’t stop jumping and wagging his tail, especially in front of Ann. This was proof enough for both the owner and netizens watching the video that they were besties.

Replying to one of the comments, the owner shared how Charlie helped the “shyest child who has no self confidence” to read. They said that the Golden Retriever doesn’t judge anyone on their reading abilities and also gives students a high-five after their session. The pet parent also revealed that Ann has been reading since she was 4 and has been best friends with the therapy dog for three years.
