TJ the French Bulldog and his owner, Duncan Tout, recently launched a new Instagram series called “Tuesdays with Chef TJ.” In its very first episode, the pair took viewers through a step-by-step recipe for dog-friendly pancakes. Duncan explained that this weekly project would highlight simple recipes that both dogs and their humans could enjoy together. Standing on the kitchen counter beside him, TJ took his role as sous chef seriously as he watched the process with curious eyes.
The recipe itself was straightforward. Two ripe bananas and a single egg formed the base of the batter. Duncan mashed the bananas into a smooth texture before cracking the egg and mixing everything together. TJ, meanwhile, kept a close eye on the bowl, occasionally sniffing at the ingredients. Once the batter was ready, Duncan heated a pan with a small amount of coconut oil and poured in the mixture, letting it cook until golden brown.
To finish, he topped the pancake with dog-friendly peanut butter and fresh blueberries. TJ even got an early taste test when Duncan offered him a lick of peanut butter straight from the jar. Once cooled, he placed the pancake on a plate and served it to TJ, who eagerly devoured it.
One fan commented, “Love the sound of a Frenchie eating,” pointing out the satisfying crunches and snorts that came through the audio. Another joked, “Forget TJ, I’m making that for my breakfast!” A fellow French Bulldog owner added, “My Frenchie says all pancakes besides chocolate chip pancakes are dog friendly.” Some viewers even noted they’ve tried similar recipes for themselves, with one writing, “I used the same recipe when I was on keto.”
