The relationship between a cat and a dog can be daunting, especially if the cat insists on picking a fight. A hilarious video shared by user @cactustherescue on Instagram features one such cat and rescue dog pair. The cat, Miso, does his best to tease the dog, Cactus. The dog, however, tries to handle the situation calmly and avoids Miso as best as he can.

The video shows the cat and the dog fighting over nothing, mostly because Miso seems to have no real reason to fight. He simply lies on the ground, poking the dog with his paws. The owner quips in the caption, “Miso really thinks he’s a dog!” Explaining the cat’s antics, the caption continues, “He can’t help himself but to egg Cactus on.”
The footage captures Cactus approaching Miso near the window. As soon as the dog gets close, Miso rolls onto his back and begins teasing Cactus. The cat acts as though he had been waiting for the opportunity to get on Cactus’s nerves. He looks right at the dog and starts to carefully poke him with his paws.
Cactus, however, keeps his cool, not giving in to Miso’s trap. He looks down at the cat occasionally, only to find Miso’s paws reaching for his face. Still, the dog avoids a brawl, even taking a step back from the cat. However, Miso does not take the hint and continues playfully annoying Cactus.
The cat then jumps up onto his hind legs to take the teasing up a notch. He stands upright and continues poking Cactus with his forelimbs. This time, Cactus does not back down. He playfully bites the cat’s torso in response. However, Miso refuses to budge and continues his attacks. Eventually, Cactus gives up and runs to bury his face in the owner’s lap.
The playful fight between the cat and the rescue dog in the video shows the joys of having both pets in the same house—and even in the same room.
