Video Shows Owning a Labrador Means You’re in It for the Calm & Chaos

It’s an amazing journey to raise a dog from a puppy to a furry best friend. Life can be full of surprises with a canine companion. One moment, they are a sweet, wobbly puppy, and the next, they are full of chaotic energy.

Peggy’s owner also went through a similar journey that she documents in this sweet yet funny Instagram video. Like most Labradors, she can melt your heart with a sleepy cuddle one minute and test your patience with her non-stop antics the next. In the viral clip, her parent has summed up the stages of raising her, and it is spot on.

Owner shares stages of owning a Labrador in video

This Instagram Reel has been climbing the popularity charts on the social media platform. The video kicks off with Peggy looking sweet as ever, with a colorful ball in her mouth, and the text on screen reads: “The 3 stages of owning a Labrador.”

Stage one is all about pure puppy innocence. We see her curled up in blankets, drifting off to sleep in impossible positions, and wobbling around with her toy. She was squishy, snuggly, and a bundle of wobbly energy who’s impossible not to adore.

Stage two is utter chaos. Peggy transforms into what her human calls a “literal baby shark.” Clips of her shredding toys, jumping on beds, flashing those needle-sharp teeth, and tearing through the yard in endless zoomies prove her owner’s point. The in-video text jokes that she “should come with a warning label.”

Finally, we reach stage three: Peggy, the best friend her parent had always dreamed of. She’s calm, sweet, and endlessly happy to see her human, plush toy in tow. There are beach zoomies, snuggles on the couch, and plenty of that infamous Labrador smile. She’s “secretly still a little chaotic,” but she’s also squishy, wrinkly, and downright perfect.

With over 14K likes, viewers can’t get enough of the Labrador’s video. One comment reads, “We are deep in baby shark and clinging on to hope of best friend ever soon.” Another said that for them, “Stage one never really ends.” A user also commented, “Oh my goodness – those eyes and that tail that I don’t think EVER stops wagging.” All stages are clearly a hit with the netizens.
