Video: Senior Dog Just Won’t Leave Shop Until Treats Are Served

A viral video of a senior dog named Maggie and her little expedition while getting treats is melting hearts. Maggie proves that wisdom comes with age, and it is all the more charming when treats are involved. Instagram user @maggiepotamus shared a video of the senior dog in which she proves that persistence and puppy eyes are the key to getting treats from one’s favorite coffee shop.

Instagram video shows senior dog exercising patience when it comes to treats

Maggie, the senior dog in the video, wakes up early one morning and decides it is time for her treats. The sweet saga proves how patience is a virtue, and it is something that comes with age – even in the case of furry chaos. Standing with dignity and exuding her calm temperament, Maggie stars in the video like a main character. She is savvy for treats and exhibits the quiet intelligence dogs carry in their older self.

In the video, Maggie wakes up full of enthusiasm in the morning. Per the on-screen caption, she wakes up early “for the first time in months.” She heads out with her owner, marching straight toward the pair’s favorite coffee shop. But she reaches the spot to find out the shop has not opened yet. Hence, Maggie’s owner decides to take a walk around the block to bide time.

She gently reassures Maggie, “We’re gonna come back in five minutes when they’re open, okay?” However, the video shows how the senior dog would not budge without her treats. She activates her “puppy eyes,” convincing her human to wait till the door opens. When they do open, the shop’s staff greets Maggie with gentle pats and the dog patiently waits by the reception. Finally, the staff gives Maggie’s human Maggie’s treats, but the dog wants to receive the treats directly from the staff aka Maggie’s “friend.”

The staff therefore kneels and showers the senior dog with pats and treats. Later, Maggie finishes her adventurous day with playful rolls on muddy grass, sharing her rare bouts of “senior dog zoomies,” and sniffing tulips on the way back. Maggie’s patience and quiet persistence are gentle reminders of the comfort that routinely brings senior dogs. The video shows that her early morning ritual is more than just about the reward – it is about love, connection, and the chase for familiar moments.
