Video: Dog’s ‘Dobby Ears’ Are a Sign of How Happy She Is

There’s happy, and then there’s Peggy happy — it’s a level of joy so contagious it practically vibrates through the screen. In a video shared by @foxredpeggy, the dog owner-proclaimed “goblin girl” shows off what others lovingly call her Dobby ears. They’re floppy, curved, and occasionally enormous, but most of all, they’re pure happiness in motion.

Every wiggle of the Labrador’s butt, every squinty-eyed grin, every triumphant sock theft seems to make those ears dance just a little more. Jess, her human, jokes that the “squintier the Peggy, the happier the Peggy” — and after watching the video, and especially the dog’s ears, you’ll completely get what she means.

This delightful clip, which has already received over 34K likes, will instantly make your day better. It opens with Peggy standing sweetly on the couch, tail wagging, like she’s plugged into a happiness socket.

“Meet my dog… Peggy,” the first onscreen caption reads, before Jess’s comments start to appear to explain her pet’s unique set of goblin ears. They’re her emotional barometer, a built-in happiness meter that flaps, folds, and wiggles depending on her mood.

In one clip, Peggy’s wrapped in a sheet, clutching a sock like a prized treasure. Then, in another, she’s prancing around the yard with her favorite toy, ears bouncing in rhythm with every joyful hop.

When Jess says, “And the happier Peggy is… the wigglier her butt gets,” the proof is immediate — Peggy appears in a belly dancer’s belt, her entire body shimmying in a full-blown happiness performance.

The montage continues with shots of her stealing socks, sticks, singing her goblin songs, and narrowing her eyes into the tiniest, squintiest smiles. By the end, it’s obvious why one fan called her “the Beyoncé of huggable potatoes,” because she can dance and sing.

Jess calls Peggy “one of the happiest doggies I think I’ve ever known” in the caption. And after watching the video, well think she indeed is. Because when Peggy’s happy, the whole world can feel it too.
